All Things Considered audio

Feb. 18, 2004

Scores of scientists release a report alleging the Bush administration distorts and censors scientific findings that contradict its policies. At least 58 leading scientists -- including Nobel laureates, medical experts, former federal agency directors and university executives -- signed a letter accompanying the report circulated by the Union of Concerned Scientists. Hear NPR's Richard Harris.

This makes me happy until I think about the miniseries V, and how the aliens convinced people not to trust the scientists. And then it was all over. :P

I'm not sure I understand. Why would it make you happy?

Well, I didn't listen to the audio, but from what I can see a large group of respectable people is rising up to talk about how much our current president sucks, and that makes me happy. Hopefully, hopefully some people whose minds weren't made up before will listen now.

The spin that will be put on it ("Don't trust the scientists!") is what does not make me happy.
